Anyone can create an account on about-food.com enabling them to submit pages to the articles, recipes, places and news sections.
Adding pages As a registered user you are automatically given Author permission. You can use the WYSIWYG content management interface to add your page and can set the section and category in which you would like the page to appear. Pages can only appear in one section and category, but please do not add multiple pages. You can also set the start date if you wish to delay a news announcement for example.
Page title, description and keywords Please make sure you carefully add these to your pages (at bottom pf page) as they are used by the 'Related articles' side bar for users to find other similar content on the site, and of course by search engines to index pages and return relevant search results.
Editor review When you submit a page the editor will review the content, checking that the page has been placed in the correct section and category before making it live. Normally this will happen within 24 hours. The Editor will have the final decision on where the page appears and can change the section and category accordingly. This is to maintain coherent content for users. The categories are clearly indicated so please save time by taking time to place an article where it should be. Please note: Press releases, announcements, event publiicity and product launch PR etc should be placed in the News & Reviews section in the appropriate category.
Your author responsibilities You can include words, pictures and links in your page content and you will have full responsibility for that content including copyright and picture rights use. About-Food.com will take all reasonable steps to ensure that articles submitted are honest, decent and fair and may contact you if in doubt. In circumstances where a page is felt to be potentially insulting, damaging or dishonest then the page will be removed.
If in doubt please email editor
